Our next concert features two extraordinary works for chamber choir and orchestra. Composed when Handel was only twenty-two, the Dixit Dominus stands as one of the greatest choral works of the Baroque period; music of astonishing virtuosity and range.
We also present the Melbourne premiere of Arvo Pärt’s spellbinding Te Deum.
Scored for three choirs, string orchestra, piano and tape, Pärt’s music rises up like the vaults of a great Gothic cathedral, finishing in silence and transcendence. Music also by Vasks and Schönberg.
In the acoustics of Sacred Heart Carlton, this concert will be an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss out.
