Gloriana chamber choir presents Fauré Requiem

The third concert in our 2017 season contains one of the most cherished of all choral works: Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem.

Of his Requiem, Fauré wrote “Everything I managed to entertain by way of religious illusion I put into my Requiem, which moreover is dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest.”

Marked by its gently luminous scoring and melodic beauty, Faure’s Requiem has been a favourite of audiences since its first performance in 1888. Gloriana are thrilled to be performing the work in the composer’s original scoring.

This all-French program will also feature Francis Poulenc’s sparkling Mass in G and a rare performance of Daniel-Lesur’s Le Cantique des Cantiques.

We are delighted to present this work in its original orchestration with soloists bass-baritone Nicholas Dinopoulos and soprano Erika Tandiono.

Don’t miss the chance to hear these treasures of the French choral repertoire.
