New Concert: Ave Maria. 15 November 2015
Gloriana is thrilled to present Ave Maria, a compelling selection of Marian-inspired works to warmly welcome in the Christmas season.
Hildegard von Bingen’s ecstatic, flowing lines forms a prelude to a group of polychoral works in the Venetian tradition, which we present with a band of Melbourne’s premier period brass players.
Also included in the programme are a number of modern classics: Bax’s soaring, virtuosic Mater ora Filium, Villette’s exquisite Hymne à la Vierge and Biebl’s moving and much-loved setting of Ave Maria.
We look forward to seeing you there.
